I've been struggling to find a lighter shade of brow pencil that still matches my hair color, all the closest colors are too dark. Yesterday I discovered that putting on setting powder before I applied the pencil makes it go on much lighter so I can build it up exactly as much as I want without it getting too dark or bold. As an added bonus, it's MUCH harder to rub or scratch off now!
For those curious, I use ABH Brow Wiz in Granite or Benefit Precisely My Brow in 6 (cool soft black), and I apply NARS Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Powder first. It's reeeally difficult to find a pale grey brow pencil with just the tiniest hint of brown, so I'm happy that I can finally use these perfect colors at the right depth. I have a really muted complexion, so I look best with a very natural and soft brow.
